Happy 100th day of school!

Today, we celebrated our 100th day of first grade! We made 100th day headbands with several different ways of making 100 (coins, addition facts, tally marks, etc.), which we are sporting in the photos above. We also read and wrote 100th day books, played math games with the number 100, and wrote about what we would buy for someone else if we had 100 dollars. The students were so excited during all of our calendar activities when they were able to finally reach this exciting three digit number!

Number Scrolls

Yesterday during our math lesson, we began our number scrolls, on which we copied the number grid. For the next couple of weeks, we will keep these in our desks and students will be able to continue their number scrolls by gluing more number grids on to the end of the scroll, so they can take their number grids as high as they are able to count! We attach our number scrolls to empty paper towel tubes, so if you have any that become empty in the next couple of weeks, please feel free to send them in with your child!
