After learning about Chinese New Year traditions during our cultural comparison of China, we celebrated with a Chinese New Year celebration! The students enjoyed parading around the classroom with their paper dragons and dragon masks, and were so excited to receive their very own red envelopes of "lucky money". In the story, "Sam and the Lucky Money", we learned an important lesson about how lucky money can be used for someone who may have a greater need for it.
